iMac 2017 Rumors: Coming March? Packing Serious Power and Specs
The highly anticipated iMac 2017 desktop is expected to arrive next month with Intel's seventh-generation Kaby Lake processors powering it up.
Last year, Best Buy put up a listing of a new iMac with the said processor, a Retina 5K display, and 32 GB of random-access memory (RAM) paired with a 2 TB Fusion Drive.
Whether it was a mistake or not, it is unknown, but the listing was taken down immediately. The specifications and features listed, however, had many believing that the product will materialize soon in the form of the iMac 2017.

However, others would like to believe that the details on the listing were nothing but placeholder text. Some argue that these are the actual information given to the retailer, but they accidentally posted them earlier than they should.
While nothing has been confirmed by Apple yet with regard to the iMac 2017, CEO Tim Cook has already expressed the company's commitment to the product last year.
"The current generation iMac is the best desktop we have ever made and its beautiful Retina 5K display is the best desktop display in the world," Cook wrote on an employee message board picked up by Tech Crunch.
"Some folks in the media have raised the question about whether we're committed to desktops. If there's any doubt about that with our teams, let me be very clear: we have great desktops in our roadmap. Nobody should worry about that," he went on to say.
The iMac 2017 is believed to turn the Apple CEO's words into reality. The use of the Intel Kaby Lake alone should allow the company to make some serious upgrades on the desktop.
The processor should add support to Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1 and DisplayPort 1 in the iMac 2017. If Apple opts for the i7-7700 or the i7-7700K, Macworld says it will see a major boost in power too.
The chipset operates at 4.2 GHz in regular circumstances, which is already impressive. It turns out it can overclock up to 4.8 GHz, which will see a spike in performance, rivalling that of the Surface Studio.
