Images of the NEW Meizu MX5 Pro Plus leaked

Rumors have been going around that Meizu would be bringing out a new device powered by the Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset and would be called "Meizu MX5 Pro Plus". To support this, images of the device have leaked out.

Unfortunately, the AnTuTu benchmark results have been blanked out. The model number hasn't been revealed so the specs are still unknown.

The leaked images of the Meizu MX5 Pro "Plus" appears to be an upgraded version of the MX5 Pro. Rumors suggest that Meizu might offer 2 new upcoming handsets, both powered with the Samsung Exynos 7420 Chipset.

As per the leaked images, the device has the phablet sized display and the combo fingerprint sensor/home button at the bottom of the device, similar to the Max Pro 4. It is being speculated that if there are two devices, both would have high resolution (Quad HD). Meizu MX5 Pro would probably have a 5.5 Inch display while the display of the Meizu MX5 Pro "PLUS" would probably measure 6 inches or more.

One of the interesting things is that Meizu has chosen the Samsung Exynos 7420 SoC. This chipset provides the horsepower for the Samsung's gallery of formidable handsets - Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Samsung Galaxy Note5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+.

Samsung has used its in-house Exynos 7420 SoC, rather than a Qualcomm processor as it has done in previous years. This is because for the same processor design, Samsung gets lower power consumption that translates to increasing clock speeds or additional battery savings.

Other features that have leaked out is Meizu MX5 Pro "Plus" having a 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM inside and a 20.7MP rear-facing camera. The Snapdragon 820 is also linked to MX Pro Plus.

Meizu is not that well-known in the western markets where it has offered its MX and M Note product lines. But its aggressive pricing and tendency to bring out devices that copy the iPhone's looks may soon make Meizu phones a household name.

All in all, if the rumours come true, another power-packed handset will hit the markets soon.
