'Incredibles 2' news and rumors: Might feature a time jump; Jack-Jack may become a villain
The sequel to Disney's superhero movie "The Incredibles" has been a long time coming. It has been more than a decade since the first movie but now it has been confirmed that the sequel is currently in the works.
The new movie will most likely see the return of the cast as they reprise their respective roles. Brad Bird the writer and director of the first film will be developing the story for the highly anticipated sequel.
This sequel could go two ways. First, it picks up where the first movie left off when the Parr family accepts their new life as superheroes and suit up, in order to face off against the new villain The Underminer. Or it could do a time jump instead and age up all the characters especially the kids. Storywise, the second option would be more interesting.

There are rumors circulating that Jack-Jack, the youngest of the Parr children, will become the new villain. Jack-Jack is the most powerful one and he can control his powers. The sequel will most likely take place five years after the first one.
Brad Bird spoke about the sequel and how risky it is to do so. But he alluded to the fact that people will love the movie because of the characters. "It can be fun, and certainly I had a blast getting to do the action sequences in The Incredibles, but that's the dessert. Every movie is kind of a risk, and you're thrown into a new pool and you haven't learned how to swim in it yet, so I'm going to bumble along and make the same mistakes that I usually do and hopefully spot them and correct them. I really love those characters and that aspect of getting to be with them again is exciting to me," he said.
Furthermore, he added that the forthcoming sequel will be about the characters and that they will be vital to the movie more than anything else. He said that the greatest special effect is caring about a character. There is no release date that has been set for the movie, but it has been hinted that the film could come out either in 2017 or 2018.
