'Incredibles 2' Spoilers: Director Teases Unique Twist in Story Line
"The Incredibles 2" took a decade before it was finally confirmed as a movie in the making, and director Brad Bird teased that the second installment will feature unique twists in the story line.
So far, there is still no confirmed release date for "The Incredibles 2," but reports are pointing to June 21, 2019 as the possible premiere schedule. Director Brad Bird is looking to create a new direction in the upcoming film to make it more interesting for viewers, according to Movie News Guide.
In an interview in April last year, Bird mentioned that the story of the first "The Incredibles" movie focused on family and how the characters' superhero powers affected their relationship. He mentioned his desire to put more focus on the characters and not the special effects of the movie, the report relays.
As of now, there are reports saying the plot of "The Incredibles 2" is 75 percent complete and that viewers will witness a new direction in the story. Bird, who refused to dish out more details on the sequel, said he feared that film would be reduced to a "footnote or commentary" on the present superhero genre, the report details.
Meanwhile, Samuel L. Jackson's character Frozone will reportedly return to the sequel, Australia News Network reports.
"Everytime I run into Brad [Bird], he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on [in the sequel], so I have to believe that," said Jackson. "I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there."
Aside from that, Jackson hinted that the sequel might center on Jack-Jack, the youngest family member. There are speculations that Jack-Jack will become bigger and more powerful than before.
"The Incredibles 2" will reportedly be released in 2019. More details on the upcoming sequel's plot are expected to surface this year.
