'Indiana Jones 5' news: Film will not happen for a while; no actor cast yet

Fans of the Indiana Jones franchise have been awaiting the reboot ever since the disastrous most recent movie "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Now there is nothing official yet at this point, but there are plenty of rumors abound.

The major question that fans are asking is that will Harrison Ford still play the iconic role or is he going to pass the torch. Nothing is set in stone, but Ford is already 75 years old and he is reprising his role in the new "Star Wars" movie so it would be logical to sit the film out.

It has been rumored that actor Chris Pratt will play a younger version of the famous character, but Pratt himself is not aware of such plans at the moment. However, he is very open to the idea of playing the iconic role. Another actor that is rumored to play the new Indy is Bradley Cooper.

Kathleen Kennedy, head of Lucasfilm, said that there is a definite plan to make a new Indiana Jones movie but that a script has not even been made yet and the team is still talking about it. Producer Frank Marshall, on the other hand, said the exact opposite. "No, there've been no discussions on that. We've had no discussions on 'Indy 5′ to date," he said.

The McGuffin of the new movie is rumored to be the Bermuda Triangle, which is still a very hot topic today. There is also a rumor that George Lucas is still interested in directing the new film, despite his retirement.

The movie could also be refashioned, in order to appeal to the younger generation like the iconic "James Bond" franchise, and it could showcase different actors playing the iconic role. The movie is rumored to come out sometime in 2018.
