Indianapolis Colts Quarterback Andrew Luck Could Practice This Week

It appears that Andrew Luck is inching closer to a return to the field.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback has been on the shelf since he underwent surgery in January to fix a lingering issue on his right shoulder and he has yet to step foot on the practice field this year. However, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano has provided a glimmer of hope for the fans as he told reporters that Luck was making progress in his recovery and he might even participate in practice this week.

"Andrew is progressing well, getting stronger and there might be chance. He might be able to start some practice this week, but I'm not guaranteeing nothing, so don't write anything. There's a possibility," Pagano said on Monday, via ESPN.

"When our doctors and our trainers tell me that he's at a point where he can get back out there to begin to practice, then I'll be able to tell you for sure. He's doing well," he added.

Of course, there's still no clear timetable for his return, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also believes that Luck may practice this week as he aims to make his return when the Colts take on the Tennessee Titans in Nashville on Oct. 16.

"Keep an eye on the practice fields in Indiana this week, you may see Andrew Luck doing some work," Rapoport said.

Well, that makes sense. The Colts would have left Luck on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list if they didn't think he was going to be available early in the season.

The Colts lost their first two games this season before they finally got one in the win column by beating the equally listless Cleveland Browns at home this past Sunday.

Jacoby Brissett has proven to be a fine quarterback, but the Colts need to get their number one passer back on the field if they want to finish the season with a respectable record.
