'Injustice 2' News: Green Lantern and Green Arrow Show Off Power in New Story Trailer

NetherRealm Studios has released another glimpse of the larger than life fight between Batman and Superman via a new story trailer for "Injustice 2."

According to GameSpot, the second part of the "Shattered Alliances" series reveals a new roster of superheroes who will play pivotal roles in the looming battle of the greats. In the promo, Green Lantern and Green Arrow get to show off their powers, while the Reverse Flash is briefly glimpsed.

Villainous Bane is also present in the trailer, but there is not much action shown for the character. The sequel is expected to dwell on Superman's dilemma on whether Batman can be trusted or not. At the end, though, he will realize that he needs the Regime to keep Mr. Wayne in check in the event of a meltdown.

Other characters teased in the trailer are Captain Cold and Cyborg. According to Comics Alliance, Cold is likely a part of Gorilla Grodd's squad, which includes other villains like Deadshot, Cheetah, Catwoman and Bane. The Reverse Flash that is shown is reportedly just an alternate skin for Barry's superhero alter ego and not a separate playable character.

Previously, NetherRealm has revealed the roster of other confirmed characters in the sequel. Doctor Fate and Blue Beetle will be in "Injustice 2," as well as Swamp Thing, Harley Quinn and Supergirl. Wonderwoman will also be present alongside Aquaman and Robin. Poison Ivy, Black Canary and Atrocitus complete the list.

Meanwhile, the developer has also announced that a mobile game is being created for "Injustice 2." Creative director Ed Boon has confirmed the mobile adaptation rumors. A soft-launch of the game has reportedly been held in the Philippines. Just like in "Injustice: Gods Among Us" companion app, it is said to feature a touch-based fighting system of the original.

"Injustice 2" will launch for the PS4 and Xbox One on May 16.
