'Injustice 2' Release Date, Character News: Devs Add Swamp Thing, Cheetah, Catwoman and Poison Ivy to the Roster
It looks like NetherRealm Studios plans to keep on expanding the "Injustice 2" playable characters roster as it has just announced that it will be including four more DC Comics heroes and villains to the upcoming game.
Just this week, it was confirmed that four characters would be joining the roster. On Monday, reports about the addition of Swamp Thing were released, along with a gameplay trailer video. In the almost two-minute long teaser, the hybrid humanoid-plant can be seen giving Robin, Batman, Wonder Woman and other superheroes a hard and painful battle.
As fans can see from the trailer video, Swamp Thing shows off his ability to make a clone, extend his sturdy plant arms and grow strong branches from the ground or on his body to use against the characters that he will be up against.

Swamp Thing can also be seen literally pulling Robin below ground where the superhero is continuously beaten up by a massive plant fist controlled by the humanoid-plant.
Then on Tuesday, NetherRealm Studios released another gameplay video trailer announcing the addition of Catwoman, Cheetah, and Poison Ivy to the "Injustice 2" roster.
The latest gameplay trailer contains more trash talking and opens up with Cheetah wanting to bring down Swamp Thing as she says, "My claws will cut you down." In another scene, Cheetah can be seen throwing an insult at Catwoman, saying, "You're too domesticated."
Right at the 30-second mark of the video titled "Here Come the Girls," Batman appears to confront Catwoman, stating that he thought the latter was done committing crime, to which Catwoman responds, "But how else can I get your attention?"
The trailer then cuts to a scene to introduce Poison Ivy who tells Catwoman, "I thought your nine lives were used up?" The "Here Come the Girls" trailer also include some scenes with the Black Canary, another DC Comics character who recently joined the game.
With the addition of Swamp Thing, Cheetah, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy, the "Injustice 2" roster of playable characters now consists of 21 names.
"Injustice 2" will be released on May 16 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
