'Into the Badlands' Season 3 News: AMC Drama Adds Four New Cast Members
"Into the Badlands" has added four new cast members for its third season.
The AMC drama is set to introduce more characters when it returns next year, according to reports. Lewis Tan ("Iron Fist"), Babou Ceesay ("Guerrilla") and Ella-Rae Smith ("Clique"), and Dean-Charles Chapman ("Game of Thrones") have officially joined the show's cast. The network also announced that Sherman Augustus ("Westworld") has been promoted to series regular for season 3.
Tan has been tapped to play Gaius Chau, the younger brother of Baron Chau (Eleanor Matsuura). He was imprisoned by the baron for freeing her cog slaves, but he will eventually become a reluctant player in his sister's fight against The Widow.
Ceesay portrays Pilgrim, a warlord who embarks on a journey to recover an artifact from Azra. The mysterious item is believed to be something that could affect the balance of power in the Badlands.
Smith plays the character named Nix, a teenage girl whom Pilgrim adores like his own daughter. He uses her abilities to do get what he wants.
Taking on the role of Castor is Chapman, who most recently starred in the HBO drama "Game of Thrones" as King Tommen. A teenager who has dark powers, Castor is someone who has a very close bond with Pilgrim.
Meanwhile, Augustus reprises his role as Nathaniel Moon, the former regent who lost his hand to Sunny last season. The next installment will see him team up with The Widow (Emily Beecham) in her fight against Baron Chau.
Debuted in 2015, "Into the Badlands" is a martial arts drama that explores a post-apocalyptic world. The story revolves around a warrior known as Sunny (Daniel Wu), whose sole mission is to protect M.K. (Aramis Knight), a boy with a deadly power. Together, Sunny and M.K. must survive in a place surrounded by scheming barons battling it out to take over the Badlands.
The third season of "Into the Badlands" premieres 2018 on AMC.
