iOS 10.3.1 Features Bug Fixes; Brings Back 32-Bit Support
Just about a week after the iOS 10.3 update was released, iPhone and iPad owners are already getting the iOS 10.3.1 software patch that has more bug fixes. It has also been confirmed that it will come with security update features and support for devices running on 32-bit.
In a changelog description released on Monday, Apple said that the iOS 10.3.1 has been made available to install on Apple products such as the "iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later."
In the same post, Apple explained that the security patch on iOS 10.3.1 was prompted by the discovered possibility that "an attacker within range may be able to execute arbitrary code on the Wi-Fi chip." With the newly released software patch "a stack buffer overflow was addressed through improved input validation"

When the iOS 10.3 software update went live a week ago, owners of the iPhone 5 and 5c suddenly lost their option to install the said patch over-the-air.
Reports can now confirm that the sudden disappearance of the OTA option for installing the iOS 10.3 software update on the said devices is mainly because these devices are running on a 32-bit process using the A6 chipset – something that is not supported by the iOS 10.3.
So apart from the security patches, iOS 10.3.1 reportedly brings back the support for 32-bit devices. This means owners of the iPhone 5 and 5c can start updating their smartphone's software version with iOS 10.3.1 upon its release.
It can be recalled that the iOS 10.3 has already brought several add-ons for iOS-run devices. Upon installing the software update, owners can start making use of features such as the Find My AirPods app, the new and faster Apple File System, a new widget for the Podcast app, a new Apple ID and iCloud profiles sections on the Settings app, and more.
It has also been reported that the iOS 10.3 is supposed to make user interface navigation faster. Developers explained that they have tweaked the app icons to allow them to respond in a smoother and quicker way when owners go from app to another.
