iOS 10.3 Beta: Apple Releases Seventh Beta Version for Public Testing
Apple has released the seventh beta version of its upcoming iOS 10.3. The testing release was made available to both developers and members of Apple's Beta Software Program.
The Cupertino-based company has just launched its seventh beta of the iOS 10.3 on Thursday, March 16, hot on the heels of its release of the sixth beta just three days previously. The shorter, more incremental release schedule of the beta updates for the iOS could signal that the major update will be seeing a final release for users soon enough, according to the Apple Insider.
In another update that the Technobuffalo feature sees as Apple putting the final update before the official release to iOS users, the latest beta test has been made available via the Apple Developer Center for registered developers, or over the air for users who are members of Apple's public beta testing program, according to Mac Rumors.
The imminent iOS 10.3 is considered a major update that's eagerly anticipated by Apple fans, and one that will bring many consumer-oriented features. One feature, called "Find My AirPods," will help owners of the earphone by pointing out the location of the AirPod when it last connected over Bluetooth. The iOS device can also play a tone on the AirPod, helping users locate it by hearing.
The iOS 10.3 update will also see Apple introducing a brand-new file system for its devices, simply called the Apple File System (APFS). Among other features, the APFS is optimized for flash and solid-state drive (SSD) storage for mobile devices, with a particular focus on saving power and providing strong encryption.
The company will also introduce changes to the App Store coming with the iOS 10.3. The new App Store will let developers respond to customer reviews, classify reviews as "Helpful" or "Not Helpful." The new iOS update will also come with updated animations, improvements to Siri, and more.
