iOS 10.3 Update Beta Release News: Third Beta Version Features New 'App Compatibility' Program

Apple has recently released the third beta version of iOS 10.3 to public beta testers, ahead of the release of the full iOS 10.3 update to Apple users in the coming weeks. The new operating software update will reportedly introduce several new features that iPhone and iPad users can look forward to.

According to BGR, one of the most notable additions to the upcoming update is the "Find My AirPods" feature. It is an extension of the "Find My iPhone" app and will show Apple users the last known location of their wireless earbuds. With the growing popularity of the AirPods and many Apple users' propensity to lose them, the new app could be highly appreciated by many Apple fans once launched.

Aside from the "Find My AirPods" app, other interesting new features that were added into the latest beta of iOS 10.3 include an Apple ID Profile in the Settings menu, improved app animations, an update iCloud settings page and an optimized file system designed with stronger encryption.

Another latest addition in the third beta version of the iOS 10. 3 is the "App Compatibility" section. According to MacRumors, the new section can be found in the Settings app and it lists apps that may not work with a future version of iOS. Tapping one of the apps leads to the App Store so users can see when an app was last updated.

For an app that requires to be updated, the "App Compatibility" program will display a prompt message saying: "This app will not work with future versions of iOS. The developer of this app needs to update it to improve its compatibility."

The "App Compatibility" program can be accessed by opening the Settings app, then by choosing "General" and tapping "About." From there, users must scroll down and tap on the "Applications" option.

Apple has yet to announce the release date of the official version of the upcoming iOS 10.3 update, But the full version of the update is expected to come out in the near future.
