iOS 11 News: 11.0.2 Update Has Been Released; Users Can No Longer Downgrade to Previous Versions

Considering the hype that it received since the update was first announced, the iOS 11 is notably facing some troubles. Developer Apple has already rolled out an emergency patch to try to address the battery problem.

Recent reports have revealed that the tech giant has released iOS 11.0.2, which seeks to fix some cracking sound on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, as well as some e-mail issues. Furthermore, Apple has stopped the option of downgrading to previous iOS versions.

The iOS 11.0.2 update was released in a rush because of users who were reporting that they were hearing some cracking sounds in the background when making some calls. Fans who updated their devices as soon as it was released found that the patch seems to be working. Photos, which the previous update caused it to be hidden, began showing up again. Moreover, e-mail attachments can now be accessed. Some bug fixes were also addressed.

Meanwhile, Forbes urged fans to avoid the iOS 11.0.2 update, except for those who experienced the problems mentioned above. This is because the patch has yet to address the battery and performance issues that most iPhone and iPad users have been suffering through seen iOS 11 was released. Furthermore, the update does not include any security patches, which means that fans should be relatively safe until the inevitable iOS 11.0.3 release.

Reports have also revealed that Apple has stopped signing iOS 10.3.3 and the original iOS 11. Fans who have upgraded to iOS 11.0.1 or later can no longer go back to a previous version of the operating system. Although fans found the news frustrating, especially those whose battery and performance went from great to worst, the good news is that Apple is already beta testing the iOS 11.1, which is expected to fix most of the issues.

iOS 11.0.2 is now available for download on compatible Apple devices.
