iOS 7 Download for iPhone 5 Coming Soon, Apple Employees Begin Training for Software Release
The iOS 7 download for the iPhone 5 should be coming soon as Apple employees have begun training in preparation for the software's release.
The company is prepping its employees to address any issues that could be related to problems with iOS 7 once it is released. The training must be completed by the second week of September in preparation for a third week release.
Due to the amount of changes being made to the software's interface, Apple is taking extra precautions by increasing the hours of part-time AppleCare support staff and requiring Mac and OS X AppleCare technicians to cross train in iOS 7 in order to be ready for heavy anticipated call volume.
This training will focus on some of the more critical features found on the software. Apple wants to push the Find my iPhone Activation Lock feature which requires the customer's iCloud username and password for an iOS Device to be inputted to activate a found iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
AppleCare will also have to become knowledgeable in the new iCloud Photo sharing options, the redesigned camera app, the new feature-rich Safari browser, Control Center, and AirDrop file-sharing.
Apple is spending time emphasizing the differences between iOS 7 and iOS 6, which are mostly found in the aesthetics. The actual functionality is pretty much the same as it has always been in most apps.
The final version of iOS 7 along with the iPad mini 2, iPad 5th generation model, the iPhone 5S or 6, and iPhone 5C are expected to be debut at a media event held by Apple on Sept. 10.
The company has not yet sent out the invite, but it should make its way to many of the prominent tech publications sometime next week.
