iOS 8 Rumors: iPhone 6 Software to Debut on June 2 at WWDC

The iOS 8 rumors have been pretty scarce up to this point, but it is now safe to say that the software will debut around June 2, since that's the new confirmed start date for Apple's annual WWDC.

WWDC, also known as the World Wide Developer's Conference is held for developers each year and acquaints them with the latest Apple software, which will most likely be iOS 8. The system will not be usable until the iPhone 6 is released, but these developers will get a first look at it from June 2-6 which is when the event is scheduled to take place.

"We have the most amazing developer community in the world and have a great week planned for them," said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "Every year the WWDC audience becomes more diverse, with developers from almost every discipline you can imagine and coming from every corner of the globe. We look forward to sharing with them our latest advances in iOS and OS X so they can create the next generation of great apps."

The event will be hosted at Moscone West in San Francisco. Last year's WWDC introduced iOS 7, OS X Mavericks, iTunes Radio and the brand new Mac Pro computer. Developers who want to attend can apply for tickets starting today. That process ends on April 7. Attendees will be randomly chosen and tickets for the event will run $1599.

Apple plans to improve various features in iOS 8 including Notification Center, Voice Memos, Messages, Game Center and CarPlay.

These new rumors originated from a 9to5Mac report that stated that Apple plans to simplify existing apps such as Notifications by eliminating the "All" and "Missed" views and combing then into one "Notifications" view. This makes it easier for users to keep track of items that are important.
