iOS 8 Rumors Point to Software Creating Split Screen Effect on iPad
The upcoming iOS 8 software will give the iPad the ability to run more than one app simultaneously.
Sources at 9to5 Mac claim that this split-screen feature will be included on the 9.7-inch iPad, however, it may not make it to the mini model. While in feature mode, users will be able to open two apps and run them side by side on the same screen.
The feature will also allow easier interaction between those two apps as users will be able to drag content from on to the other.

Apple seems to be following in the footsteps of Microsoft as the company's Surface tablets already have a similar feature known as "snap" that allows users to open multiple apps on the screen to use at the same time.
iOS 8 is also expected to cater to the fitness crowd as it will include a new Healthbook app. Apple maps will be redesigned and iPhone gamers will no longer have to use Game Center.
A previous rumor pointed to the fact that a song identification feature might be in the works for the next-gen software.
Apple is currently working on making this a new addition to the next-gen OS, according to a Bloomberg report. The company plans to partner together with Shazam to create a new way to discover a song that is playing on the radio or somewhere else.
Similar apps such as SoundHound also provide this same service that uses the device's microphone to listen to short sound clips and match the songs against a database. They also provide users with lyrics and purchase links.
iOS 8 is expected to make its official debut at this year's Worldwide Developer's Conference set to take place in San Francisco from June 2-6.
