iOS 9.2.1 News: What Does the New iOS Update Bring?

A new iOS 9 update has become available earlier this week, and the same question that is in everybody's mind is" "What does iOS 9.2.1 bring?"

According Forbes, the latest iOS 9.2.1 generally brings fixes to existing bugs of the previous operating system. The description of the update said, "This update contains security updates and bug fixes including a fix for an issue that could prevent the completion of app installation when using an MDM server," which means that the flaws in memory and security have been resolved.

Wired said that the update is a must-do since it now fixes the security bug that allows "captive portals," which usually are log-in pages, and when a user enters their details, the hacker can log in using their information into an "attacker-controlled account."

The website noted that this scheme has been going on for a long time, after Skycure discovered it in 2013, and it took Apple a great period of time to fix the security issue. "It is important to note that the fix was more complicated than one would imagine," Yair Amit, Skycure CTO, said. Besides this security fix, there's also a dozen more security patches included on iOS 9.2.1, which Apple users should get especially since those updates are "under the hood."

Sadly, iOS 9.2.1 still doesn't resolve the battery percentage indicator problem. Apple already acknowledged the issue of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users, and said that they are currently investigating the cause of the problem.

For those who are experiencing the issue, the website suggests to restart the device, go to the Date & Time settings, and make sure that the "Set Automatically" option is on. However, if the problem still persists, even if the basic troubleshooting is done, Apple suggests to contact Apple Support. The tech company mentioned that they are now working on a solution for this issue.
