Apple iPad Pro Series to Absorb Mini Lineup?
With March just around the corner, Apple fans are getting ready for a new set of devices that may be unveiled. Among these rumored offerings is the new iPad Mini 5, which may be permanently called the iPad Mini Pro.
Apple's iPad Mini lineup is long overdue for a refresh. The last iteration, the iPad Mini 4, was revealed in 2015. However, if rumors are to be believed, then the iPad Mini could be totally absorbed by the iPad Pro series.
According to Mac Rumors, the Cupertino-based technology giant is planning to unveil a new 7.9-inch iPad Pro as the next generation iPad Mini. Speculations have been rampant in recent months that Apple may be getting rid of the iPad Mini lineup entirely, but other rumors suggest a more streamlined effort from the company, resulting in the iPad Mini becoming a part of the iPad Pro series. This is not entirely surprising, considering Apple has a wide range of tablet lineups in the market.
As for its specifications, it has been said that Apple is looking to become more consistent when it comes to features and functions. The upcoming 7.9-inch iPad Pro, which is speculated to be the iPad Mini 5, is expected to have a Smart Connector, four speakers, quad microphones, True Tone display, and a 12 MP main camera with iSight and True Tone flash.
In terms of security, the tablet is said to have a fingerprint scanner. This does not come as a surprise since fingerprint sensors have become somewhat of a staple in the tech industry.
However, there has also been talk of Apple not coming out with a new iPad Mini offering this year. It is widely believed that three new iPads will be showcased in the next month, but a mini version may not be one of them.
Since these are all speculations as of now, readers are advised to take this news with a grain of salt.
