iPad Pro 10.5 to Launch in June?
Apple recently took down its online store for several hours to do some maintenance that eventually brought several of the rumored product upgrades to life. But Apple fans who have been waiting for the surprise appearance of new iPad Pro models were sorely disappointed.
The updated product pages on the Apple Online Store are still missing an ad for the rumored 10.5-inch iPad Pro model. As of now, the existing 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch models are still the flagship tablets in the lineup, although 9to5Mac did also note four device identifiers, one of which could eventually belong to an upcoming 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
The buzz surrounding the alleged release of a 10.5-inch model has been going on for months and is believed to be unveiled anytime soon, either as a surprise addition to the online store or with a proper unveiling event. There are also ongoing speculations that the 10.5-inch iPad Pro could be launched during the upcoming Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which will be held in June.
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is expected have the same form factor as the 9.7-inch model, but with a near bezel-less screen that will feature a virtual home button. The rumored tablet will also sport an LCD panel rather than an OLED one; and will be powered by an A10X processor with a more powerful battery than the older variants. It could also have a display resolution of 2,224 x 1,668 pixels and still maintain the same pixels per inch.
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro is expected to be launched right alongside the upgraded 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch variants. However, while these rumored iPad Pro 2 models may be quite a tempting treat to check out, they might not be all that easy on the pocket as prices could reportedly start from $600 to $800 on Apple Stores.
Of course, these are all just speculations, and fans looking to buy these devices should watch out for an official announcement and spec list from Apple.
