iPad Pro Release Date, Specs Rumors: Apple Building a 12.2-Inch?
Rumors have it that Apple's upcoming iPad Pro and its 12.9-inch screen are already undergoing production, but even more stories that have popped up claimed that Apple is also creating a variant that's smaller at 12.2 inches.
There is very little known about the Apple iPad Pro, but one of the things those in the know are aware of is that it's boasting a large 12.9 inch screen. However, a photo leaked from Chinese Weibo microblogging site showed a mould that was said to be the back panel or rear shell of an iPad Pro.
The photo was said to be taken at a Foxconn factory, which is Apple's manufacturer in China, and is said to have an estimated size of 12 to 13 inches.

The alleged leak seems in line with previous information that came out claiming that the iPad Pro device will have a 12.2-inch display. This makes it bigger than the current iPad Air, which only has a 9.7-inch display. Then again, there is the possibility that the mould is for the upcoming 12-inch MacBook Air, which is said to have a slimmer, tapered design.
Aside from the display, other speculations claimed that there are other things to look forward to. The iPad Pro is rumored to have narrow side bezels, a thin chassis, speakers and microphones at the top and bottom, a triple-core A8x processor with 2GB RAM, fingerprint sensor and more.
Estimated prices based on the iPad Air and MacBook Air put it at a possible $400 to $700, though it will still depend on the model, from 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.
A release date, on the other hand, is hard to gauge, what with dates being thrown around. However, Ming-Chi Kuo a KGI security analyst, claimed it will hit the stores before the second quarter of the year. This gives it a possible April release date, alongside the rumored iPad Mini Pro.
