iPhone 5 Release Date Announced by German Carrier

The rumored September release date for the next-generation iPhone was recently announced by a German carrier.

Mobilecom Debitel, the company responsible for the post, listed some information on the device and stated that it should arrive some time next month.

"In September, it's finally time for a new generation of smartphone to go on sale. Mobilcom-debitel allows you to find free e-mail about everything worth knowing about iPhone," read a translation of what the company posted on its website.

The company also stated that the device could feature a screen that is 4 inches, along with a faster processor and 1GB of RAM.

The German carrier is one of many Apple enthusiasts who believe that the company will launch the next-generation model in September of this year.

Foreign countries seem to be leaking more and more information on the device as its rumored unveiling quickly approaches. An Asian retailer even began selling a component for the handset earlier this week.

A screen digitizer set that is reportedly for the upcoming iPhone 5 is selling for $199 on various retail sites.

The part showed up on the internet this past week and is advertized as the "iPhone 5" LCD Screen complete with digitizer assembly. It is slightly longer than the 1,136 x 640-pixel display rumored for the device, so it could be a fake.

The part is currently available for purchase on ChinaGadgetLand.com and sells for $199. However, it is currently out of stock.

The specifications for the LCD Screen with Digitizer Assembly for the iPhone 5 include the LCD Screen, Touch Screen, Digitizer, and Front Cover. The screen is 4-inches and has a resolution of 1136 x 640. The set functions as replacement parts for the device that is expected to be released sometime in the fall.
