According to rumors, the iSight cameras will feature two times as many pixels compared to its predecessor's 8MP, topping up at 12MP or even 13MP for the iPhone 6s line's rear camera sensor. The increase in pixel density will give images improved sharpness, as well as allow cropping without undue loss of quality.

The iSight camera is also reported to include 4K video recording capabilities for ultra-high definition footage, as well as carry a six-element lens to add more sensitivity during low-light shoots.

Apple has also confirmed they will be releasing their new iOS 9 for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. While the exact release date has yet to be verified, speculations are rampant the upcoming operating system may be launched between September 16 to 18, with a Gold Master beta becoming available before its official release date.

Apple iPhone users should also expect a price cut for the current flagship models, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, by as much as $100, with telecom carriers and retailers lowering their prices to make way for the upcoming flagship models.

Apple's special event will begin on September 9 at 6PM BST, and users wanting to watch the live launch can log in to apple.com/apple-events/september-2015 to see the Cupertino, California tech giant's new products as they are unveiled.
