iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7 Pro Specs and Rumors
It is a widely believed rumor that Apple's newest iPhone 7 series will no longer have the 3.5mm headphone jack. Instead, it will only have the Lightning port for charging. Any kind of music may need to be transmitted through Bluetooth or via a Lightning to 3.5mm dongle, according to BGR.
Photos and videos reported by MacRumors show an iPhone 7 smartphone with only a Lightning port and 3.5mm dongle. According to the outlet, the cord looks similar to Apple's aesthetic. Furthermore, when the Lightning to 3.5mm dongle is plugged to an Apple device with iOS 9 or lower, it seems to be displaying an incompatibility error. However, when it is connected to a device with iOS 10, it seems to be working fine.
The removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack has a lot of fans and Apple users in distress as it may get in the way of their music listening especially when they are also charging their iPhone 7 devices. Apple has not given an official statement whether the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Pro and iPhone 7 Plus will only have Lightning ports at the bottom.
