iPhone 7 Release Date, Specs and Leaks: Apple Phone Coming with Lightning Headphones? Know Its Difference with 3.5 mm Port
A New Leak Reveals What Looks To Be iPhone 7 Lighting Headphones
Apple has decided to lose the 3.5 mm port for earphones and for iTunes and a new leaked photo reportedly shows an iPhone 7 with a lightning headphone.
It was rumored that Apple decided to lose the 3.5mm audio jack in their future iPhone models. A new leaked photo surfaced on the internet and it is of an alleged iPhone 7 without the audio jack and a pair of lightning headphones.
Apple iPhone 7 and Lightning Headphones
The 3.5 mm audio is meant for the headphones but leaked photos reported by French site Nowhere Else shows a presumed iPhone headphone but without the jack. The tip of the connector or rather the Lightning plug looks to be like the ones used in chargers for several Apple devices.
With the 3.5 mm audio port possibly out of the way, users may only have to use that one single port at the bottom that is used for charging the iPhone. Apple has not released any official statements regarding the Lightning headphones or the iPhone 7. BGR noted that the leaked photos may not be so reliable as it could be coming from Chinese knockoffs.
Lightning Headphones or Bluetooth?
If the rumors are true that Apple is ditching the 3.5 mm Port on the iPhone 7 and decided to have or not have Lightning headphones, there are other ways to stil listen to music. Bluetooth headsets or earphones are not a new thing but the technology could be an alternative to listening music through the new iPhone 7.
MacRumors pointed out that the new Lightning headphones may have digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Furthermore, a dongle may be needed to connect the headphones with wires. This speculation may affirm that continued support for Bluetooth headphones if ever Apple decides to sold the accessories separately for the iPhone 7.
This change in the standard audio jack will mean that outside retailers or headphone makers will need to find their own way with Lightning headphones. Telegraph wrote that this may not be likely as it will be expensive for both the manufacturers and the customers.
