iPhone 8 Specs and Price Details: Pre-Order Starts Today

Apple enthusiasts can now rave over the newest gadgets from the California-based multinational technology company. After the official launch, consumers may start choosing which among the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X they will want to purchase.

For those who prefer the iPhone 8, pre-orders will start on Sept. 15 with its actual retail release set for Sept. 22. Touted as Apple's first smartphone designed for augmented reality (as seen in The Verge), the device is equipped with AR-calibrated cameras, a new gyroscope and an accelerometer for more advanced motion tracking. The iPhone 8 is not as high-end as the new iPhone X, but it has its own charm. The 64GB is priced at $699, while the 256GB variant will retail at $849. The smartphone will be available in three colors - silver, space grey and a new gold finish.

According to Tech Radar, the iPhone 8 shares a similar look with the iPhone 7, complete with bezels, a home button and the Touch ID fingerprint scanner. What makes it different is its full glass rear. It also features an aerospace-grade aluminum frame and is water and dust resistant. The device is a bit heavier and bigger than its predecessor at 148g and measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm. When it comes to its sound, the iPhone 8 is reportedly much improved with a deeper bass that is about 25 percent louder. There is no headphone jack.

Just like the iPhone 7, the device features a 4.7-inch display but has a much advanced Retina HD. There is also the 3D Touch and Apple's True Tone technology, where the color palette of the display can adapt to its lightning conditions in an instant. The iPhone 8 packs an A11 Bionic processor and an all-new GPU, making it about 70 percent faster than the previous version. The cameras come in 12MP and 7MP, rear and front. It also supports wireless charging, but the pad will have to be purchased separately. Otherwise, the smartphone comes with the standard charging cable.
