iPhone 8 vs. iPhone 7 Specs, Price Comparison: Should Users Upgrade?
The next, shiny iPhone is here, and users saddled with the now less-shiny iPhone 7 has a wrenching decision to make. Should they drop their current Apple handset for the new Apple gadget, or should they put their money towards something more useful?
There are a few things Apple fans are looking forward to in the new iPhone 8, including facial-recognition security and wireless charging. Now, instead of using a finger, the iPhone user just has to peer into their shiny new gadget to unlock it.
There's no need to plug in the new iPhone 8 to charge. Users can simply place it on top of a charging surface and leave it, just like how one would do with a plugged-in phone.

The iPhone 7 is now considered a slight upgrade from the iPhone 6, but that did not stop people from shelling out $769 for the 32 GB model at the time, according to CNET. Just a year later, this figure now looks blown up with the iPhone 8 starting at $699 for the 64 GB model, according to Wired. Pre-orders for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 plus start on Sep. 15.
Owners of the iPhone 7 can opt to toss in another $699 or more to get the new iPhone 8 so that they can use their face to unlock their phone. They will also be instantly at home with their new phone, which uses the same LCD screen, now with "True Tone" color-shifting feature, and a home button like in the one they just replaced.
The cameras are now different, however. The iPhone 7 Plus have the dual cameras in a horizontal setup. The new iPhone 8, however, now has dual cameras in a vertical arrangement.
Even as the iPhone 8 Plus doubles the storage of the equivalent iPhone 7 Plus, Apple saw it fit to reduce the memory in the new iPhone. From 3 GB, the iPhone 8 Plus now has a whopping 2 GB of memory, according to Gadgets Now.
Maybe the new chipset could sway owners to upgrade, though, as the new Apple A11 "Bionic" chip adds two more cores to the last generation's A10 Fusion. There's also a new layer of glass on the backside, as well, for an extra shine that says "new iPhone" like no other.
