iPhone SE Rumor: Device to be Unveiled on March 21
Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the company's event this coming Monday, as it is widely believed that a new iPhone will finally be unveiled. According to speculations, the new product may not be the iPhone 7 that everybody has been looking forward to, but rather, the iPhone SE is expected to make its debut at the event.
Originally rumored to carry the label "iPhone 5 SE," the latest rumor is that the suspected device will simply carry the name "iPhone SE," meaning special edition. Earlier rumors claimed that the newest mobile device is packed in a four-inch body, the same with that of iPhone 5, and will boast iPhone 6's technology.
If the Apple event, indeed, reveals an iPhone SE in its upcoming event, this will be the first time for the company to release an iPhone without a number in its label. Reports claim that the rationale behind the company's removal of "5" from the iPhone SE is to avoid confusion among its customers.
Rumor has it that the upcoming iPhone SE will come in a new shade of pink, probably hot pink. However, the leaked photos of the said device showing it in a shade bordering between pale orange and pink seem to contradict this. Mirror cited a report saying that the leaked photos were captured by a reliable source.
Mirror also cited a report by MacRumors suggesting that the upcoming iPhone SE will be almost identical to iPhone 5s in terms of shape and size. If the leaked renders are true, would-be iPhone SE users can have a mobile device with round volume buttons, a power button at the top portion of the device, and a pill-shaped flash. It will also come with a 12-megapixel rear camera, just like the iPhone 6S, and will run on an A9 processor. Nonetheless, rumors suggest that the iPhone SE is devoid of another iPhone 6S feature: its 3D Touch.
Exciting as the features of the supposed iPhone SE features may be, they are to be taken with a grain of salt for the time being as they are just nothing but rumors and speculations. After all, it's only a matter of days when their veracity can be confirmed.
The Apple event, where the launch of the supposed iPhone SE, along with the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro and Apple Watch accessories, is set to take place at the company's headquarters in California on March 21.
