There are rumors that Apple will be hosting another event this year, sometime in October this time and it will be to unveil their iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2. Predictions for the two devices have been made as early as last year and if it manages to be true, then the two devices could be the next best thing when it comes to Apple's tablet and mini-tablets.

Still, fans for of the iPod Touch are hopeful that Apple will be at least announcing the 6th generation of the device. The anticipation is understandable as it has been more than two years since the release of the iPod Touch 5th generation, alongside the iPhone 5.

Following Apple's yearly habit of releasing a new device, the non-release of a supposed 6th generation iPod Touch was disappointing if anything.

If Apple does indeed announce a new iPod Touch, there are speculations that it will look like the iPhone 6 much like how the 5th generation resembled the iPhone 5. The iPod Touch could also follow the size scheme of the new iPhone, making two size variants instead of sticking to one. A Retina display and a TouchID fingerprint sensor could also be possible.
