iPod Touch 6G Release Date Rumors: Will Apple Ever Release a New iPod? Possibly

The electronics market will be seeing a lot of new devices coming out from Apple from here on out and it's going to be busy for the Cupertino company. Of all the product lines the company will be announcing, only the iPod Touch isn't getting a new device.

The last iPod Touch, the 5th generation Touch, was released some two years ago alongside the iPhone 5S. It held up well during the two years it was released, being praised as a big redefinition of the line since it was first released some seven years ago.

The redesign that was given to the 5th generation iPod Touch resembled that of the iPhone 5; slimmer, the same 4-inch display, Siri, iSight, as well as different color options.

Now that the iPhone 6 is to be released in the next few days, faithful iPod fans are wondering why a 6th generation iPod Touch wasn't announced.

Every two years, Apple usually does a redesign of one of its product lines, much like what they did with the iPhone 5 and the iPod Touch 5th gen. Two years have passed and it would only be expected that the company would do a redesign of the iPod Touch 6th gen – if there was ever going to be one.

The possibility of a 6th generation Touch is not impossible, however, as Apple could be planning to release the device sometime in the future. With the newly designed iPhone 6 coming out on Sept. 9, the 6th generation iPod Touch could follow close.
