'Iron Fist' Trailer News: Newest Video Previews Danny Rand's Way Back to NYC
Marvel Entertainment recently teased fans with another trailer for "Iron Fist" before its March premiere on Netflix, and it previews Danny Rand (Finn Jones) making his way back to the Big Apple, 15 years after the death of his rich parents.
"Iron Fist" is another Marvel web series to be streamed on Netflix following the success of "Daredevil," "Luke Cage" and "Jessica Jones." Aside from "Iron Fist," Marvel and Netflix are also working on the release of "The Defenders" where all these titular Marvel heroes meet.
The newest trailer dropped this week opens with Danny, also known as the human weapon Iron Fist, entering the high-class skyscraper building where his father's company, Rand Enterprises, is located.
Walking into the building barefoot and in an obviously dirty pair of clothes, security guards were quick on their feet to shoo him away, despite his repeatedly telling people that he is the lost son of the establishment's late owner.
However, the immense martial arts knowledge he gained throughout the years helped him get past security in an unconventional way. Danny can then be heard in the background as he narrated why he was gone for a long time - he left with his parents on a jet and met a tragic accident that killed both his mom and dad while he survived and was left alone in a blizzard.
The trailer cuts to an upset Harold Meachum (David Wenham), who (in the comics) planned the death of his father. Harold questions why it took Danny as long as 15 years before going back to his family's company. As others are puzzled about where he learned his martial arts abilities, in one scene, Danny tells his ally Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) that he was trained in a place called K'un-Lun, a mystical city located in China.
In January, Marvel and Netflix revealed the titles for the upcoming 13 episodes of "Iron Fist," all of which are apparently inspired by martial arts movies.
The premiere episode, directed by John Dahl, is titled "Snow Gives Way" and it obviously has something to do with Danny's experience of surviving the plane crash and being alone in the blizzard.
Marvel's "Iron Fist" will premiere on March 17 on Netflix.
