Is Blizzard Working on a New 'Overwatch' Game?

Recently spotted job listings have prompted speculation that another 'Overwatch' project is in development

"Overwatch" has established itself as the newest hit Blizzard IP. And just like with other successful IPs, the expectation is that it will eventually produce sequels and possibly even spin-offs.

The game is not even two years old yet so the desire to see a sequel is not that strong at the moment. However, for those fans hoping that something like that is indeed eventually announced, there may be some good news on that front.

Just recently, a job listing posted by Blizzard has piqued the interest of many people online.

The listing in question was for a Generalist Artist Intern, and at first glance, there was really nothing that jumped up about it. Artistic students who also love gaming were encouraged to apply, and the different requirements were also indicated.

There was one part of the listing that may have revealed a little too much, however.

Checking out the Recommended Talents section, it seems that the people over at Blizzard are looking to bring aboard someone who has "knowledge and understanding of the Overwatch universe," Gamezone reported.

Interestingly enough, it appears that the job listing has also been updated from when it initially became the subject of speculation, as the aforementioned line has apparently been taken out.

Furthermore, the people at Blizzard are also apparently looking for a Senior FX Artist who has previous experience working on a first-person game.

Obviously, the presence of those job openings does not necessarily confirm that the developers are already working on a follow-up to the 2016 title, but they are things to keep in mind at the very least.

It is also worth noting that BlizzCon 2017 is now just a few weeks away, and if the developers at Blizzard have something important to share, they will likely do so during that event.

More news about a possible "Overwatch" sequel should be made available soon.
