Is 'Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' Coming to the PC?
A new report suggests Bandai Namco's "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" could come to the PC, assuming of course that there is enough interest in the port. The new rumor has its roots in a recently spotted poll.
Apparently, Bandai Namco commissioned market research firm Harris Interactive to conduct a survey regarding its "Tekken" franchise. First spotted by Game Watcher, the poll is still live as of this writing.
The survey is roughly 20 minutes long, according to Siliconera. The same publication reports that it comes from Bandai Namco's European arm, although it does have an "other country" option. The survey asks respondents whether or not they would like to see "Tekken 7" on the PC. In other words, the company is trying to gauge interest on a possible PC version for the latest entry in its fighting series.
Those interested in seeing and playing the game in PC can still fill up the said survey, which while not a guarantee that Bandai Namco will be releasing a PC version of "Tekken 7," does indicate that the company is at the very least toying with the idea. If that happens, it will be the first of Bandai Namco's fighting games to hit the platform, not counting "Street Fighter x Tekken" which was released by Capcom in 2012 while Bandai Namco's counterpart, "Tekken x Street Fighter," is still reportedly in development. "Tekken 7" will afford PC gamers with more options and will compete with the likes of Capcom's "Street Fighter" and Autumn Games' "Skullgirls."
"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is currently available in Japanese arcades. Bandai Namco confirmed last year that the game will be heading west to Sony's PlayStation 4 complete with PlayStation VR support, it hasn't stated an exact release date yet. However, the company is expected to provide more information this year.
