'iZombie' Season 2 News, Spoilers: Major Gets Addicted With Utopium; Show Boss Confirms Peyton's Return

Things are about to get even more complicated for Major as the new second season of The CW's hit TV series "iZombie" continues this week with an episode that is expected to see Liv's ex-fiancee spiralling into his addiction with utopium. Meanwhile, executive producer Rob Thomas confirms Peyton's return. What could be her role in the progress of Season 2?

Citing first the spoiler report from Design&Trend.com, the showrunner teased that after what happened in the Season 2 premiere, which saw Major getting blackmailed by Vaughn, the former social worker will resort to something that will temporarily alleviate him from the secrets he has been keeping.

"This will send Major spiraling into a Utopium addiction," Thomas told The Hollywood Reporter (via D&T). There will be so much at stake including his already "difficult relationship with Liv" and his friendship with Ravi. But according to the EP, the first one to pick up the hints of Major's addiction would be Ravi.

Thomas, however, pointed out that Major's current dilemma won't get him into a situation where he has to battle with his morality.

"He's not going to sit back and take it all season," the exec producer said (via D&T). "At some point, he's got to figure out how to turn the tables on Max Rager. It's not that you will watch 22 episodes of him forlornly simply going about this task."

In related cast news, Thomas confirmed (via International Business Times) that Peyton will finally return after Aly Michalka's character discovered Liv to be an undead and fled right out of Seattle.

Thomas told EW (via IBT) that after being a "sounding board" and a "love interest for Ravi," this season, fans will see her "very much in the thick" of things. In fact, she is still the assistant DA and will be taking part in the Utopium task force.
