'iZombie' season 2 plot rumors: Liv faces many challenges

The upcoming season of "iZombie" will explore the new dynamics of Liv and Payton's friendship after a tragic last season.

Titled "Dead Rat, Live Rat, Brown Rat, White Rat," the second to last episode of iZombie season 1 saw Peyton, played by Aly Michalka, storming out of Liv's life after discovering that Liv was a zombie. It was confirmed that the actress Michalka will be back for the second season.

Michalka also explained how she felt about her character and Liz during a report from The Hollywood Reporter. She said, "I couldn't leave Peyton hanging and not come back. How could I not come back? ... I would like to learn more about Peyton in her personal life outside of being a roommate to Liv ... see where her relationship with Ravi (Rahul Kohli) goes."

Meanwhile, there are also questions about the fate of Liv and her brother's relationship. The previous season left off with Evan suffering from the accident at Meat Cute. It left him needing Liv's blood in order to live. However, she fears that once she donates her blood, he will turn into a zombie. Co-creator Rob Thomas, however, revealed that there will be no blood transfusion. This left fans assuming that Evan will die in the series.

A video was posted on the show's official Facebook page. It showed Thomas and McIver asking each other questions about the past season. They also touched upon the question that read, "How do you feel about killing your younger brother?"

The second season will also introduce the characters' fathers, including Liz. Thomas stated that fans will see Liv's father. He was not yet introduced in the series as the producers and writers were working hard to find a way to do it right.

iZombie will be returning on The CW with its second season this Oct. 6.
