'iZombie' Season 2 Spoilers: Kristen Bell To Guest in 'Veronica Mars' Crossover Episode

Fans of the CW zombie series "iZombie" are in for a treat when the show returns from hiatus in 2016. Rose McIver, who plays the role of Olivia "Liv" Moore, the protagonist, in the series has just announced that "Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell will be guest starring in Episode 211 of "iZombie."

The 35-year-old actress and singer, who starred in "Veronica Mars," narrated "Gossip Girl," and famously voiced Anna in Disney's 2013 mega-hit "Frozen," is set to play a voice-over role in "Fifty Shades of Grey Matter," the eleventh episode of "iZombie" Season 2. The episode is scheduled to air on Jan. 26.

"Fifty Shades of Grey Matter" will act as a "Veronica Mars" reunion episode of sorts, with Bell working with several actors from "Mars" who have since joined the zombie series. These include Percy Daggs III, Ryan Hansen, Daran Norris, Adam Rose, and David Starzyk.

The episode also reunites Bell with "Veronica Mars" creator Rob Thomas, who also developed "iZombie." It will also mark the first time that the two leading ladies from Thomas' two TV series will come face-to-face.

"We're big fans of hers and we're very, very excited that she's doing a part in our show," McIver, who typically narrates the "iZombie" episodes, says in the announcement video. She adds: "And thank you, Rob Thomas, for the hookup. Hope you guys enjoy!"

In Episode 211, Liv has some interesting experiences after she eats the brain of a librarian who died of poisoning. And as Liv will find out, the young lady was also an erotic fiction writer. Details about Bell's role in the episode have not been revealed.

iZombie is a TV adaptation of the DC Comics series of the same name. The comic books were created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred.

The second season of "iZombie" continues on Tuesday, Jan. 12, with Episode 210: "Method Head," on The CW.
