Jack White's 'Love Interruption' Paints Disturbing Image of Love
Jack White, who made an official split with his former band The White Stripes has decided to go solo and hopes to release a song from his new album Monday night.
The musician, songwriter, and record producer is a member of The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. He became most well known as the guitarist, pianist, and lead vocals for The White Stripes, which split almost a year ago. Despite the break up White has continued with his musical career and will now release a new solo album in April.
According to Black Book, the album, which is to be titled "Blunderbuss," will be released April 23 via Third Man/Columbia records. He hopes to release the first single off the album, "Love Interruption" on iTunes by Monday night.
NME, a music news site described the tone of White's new song. "Musically, there's no trademark JW riffing. The song is rather a drumless, minimalist affair based on the chord … (with a) doodling electric piano and an unnamed female vocal echo (or a treated Jack vocal, maybe)."
The song lyrics appeared a bit harsh and could possibly be hitting on the singers recent divorce, just months after The White Stripes split. "I want love to roll me over slow, stick a knife inside me and twist it all around," White sings. The chorus continues as it repeats itself, "I won't let love disrupt, corrupt, or interrupt me, anymore."
In a second line White sings, "I want love to change my friends to enemies. Tell me how it's all my fault." Although little news has been released about the singer since last year, he and former wife Karen Elson made headlines when they celebrated their divorce and issued party invitations.
