Jada Pinkett Smith Talks 'Open Marriage' Rumors: 'Will Can Do Whatever He Wants' (VIDEO)

Jada Pinkett Smith recently addressed recurring rumors surrounding her 15-year marriage to actor Will Smith.

The Hollywood actress spoke with Dr. Marc Lamont Hill of the HuffingtonPost while promoting her new documentary "Free Angela and All Political Prisoners," which is based on political activist Angela Davis. When asked whether she and Will, 44, have an open marriage, the 41-year-old mother of three gave the following response.

"I think people get that idea because Will and I are very relaxed with one another. I think because from how I've answered questions of 'girl you know what would you do if he came home and this and that [happened]?' or 'being married to a big superstar like Will, how do you deal with other women?' and I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay," Jada said.

"Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man. He has to decide who he wants to be and that's not for me to do for him. Or vice versa," she added.

The couple, who wed in 1997, shares three children Trey, 19, Jaden, 13, and Willow, 11. For years fans have questioned the foundation of the couple's marriage following reports of infidelities– which they have consistently denied.

"I don't think it's easy to be married to anyone. I think that you have to go into a relationship knowing— especially when you're dedicating to someone for the rest of your life— this is a life partnership," Jada said.

"He's my best friend. He's been by my side through some of the most difficult parts of my life and so that's something you can never take away," she continued.

In 2012 Will opened up about how exactly the couple maintains a strong marriage, particularly in Hollywood where marriages often fail.

"We make the effort to always put the family first," Will previously told People magazine.

"What's helped us is being supportive, no matter what the situation is. I'm so lucky to have someone like Jada. She's really an incredible woman, wife and mother," he went on. "[Jada] is just absolutely hardcore, like she absolutely is unfazed by the weight and the pressures of life. She is so calm and cool and easy in any situation. She can bear anything, and I just love that about her."
