Jada Shows Off Abs: Mother of 3 Says She Works Out With Her Kids

Jada Pinkett Smith is serious about fitness. Despite being a busy mother of three with a burgeoning career, the 41-year-old remains committed about staying in shape- even while on family vacation.

If there is no time for the gym, there are always other ways to stay in shape. For instance, taking a surfing lesion like Smith did during a recent family vacation. Spotted in peak fitness, showing off a stomach of firm abs, the actress and mother of three was recently seen walking the beach in Hawaii. Smith wore no make up as she headed into the waters with an instructor and a white surfboard.

The solo appearance was a first after a vacation filled with family time. Will Smith and the couple's two children, Jaden and Willow, also partook of water activities during their vacation, but appeared to sleep in this time around. Jada has said in previous interviews that surfing is part of how her and her family try to stay fit together.

"They love to go to the gym with Will and me, but surfing and snowboarding is what we do together as a family for fun," she told InShape magazine.

In fact, despite having a history of hitting the gym, Smith has revealed in other interviews that she has no heart for "pumping iron." Instead, the 41-year-old says that she prefers to stay outdoors and does most of her fit activities with her children.

"Well, I used to push a lot of iron. I've been in the gym for like 15 years now, and I'm just not motivated by it anymore," she said during an interview with Women's Health. "So I do a lot of outside sports. On vacation, I do a lot of cross-country skiing, and I like to hike. I usually do my yoga at home in the evenings for about an hour."

Working out with her kids also helps her busy schedule.

"Sometimes I go to a class, but with my schedule, it's really difficult for me - and my kids like to join me. We do a lot of yoga together. It's part of our connection time. So I'm killing a couple of birds with one stone," she added.

As far as age, Smith has offered encouragement to all women over 40 on her Twitter page. Posting a photo of herself at peak fitness she wrote: "To my Forty and over crew! Don't believe the hype...we DO get better with age!"
