On Thursday at 3 a.m. PST, it was revealed that the title of the next James Bond film is "Spectre," which stands for Special Executive for Counter-Intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge, and Extortion. Spectre was the name of an international crime syndicate, whose "Number One" was Bond's old nemesis Earst Stavro Blofeld.
The organization was featured in the Bond films of the 1960s and was part of a legal dispute with a rival film producer that was recently resolved after many years.
It has been previously confirmed that Daniel Craig will be reprising his role as James Bond, and Ralph Fiennes will be playing Agent 007's new boss, M, and Naomi Harris will be playing the role of Moneypenny. Also confirmed to star in the film is Ben Whishaw as a younger version of Bond's tech expert, Q.
For its new cast members, it was confirmed that Christoph Waltz is on board to play the main villain called Oberhauser, while Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) will be playing the role of one of the villain's henchmen called Mr. Hinx. "Sherlock" actor Andrew Scott has been cast as Denbigh, an MI5 employee. As for the film's Bond Girl, 'Spectre' will feature two of them, to be played by Monica Belucci and Lea Sedoux, named Lucia Sciarra and Madeleine Swann respectively.
The event also unveiled the Aston Martin DB10 which Bond will be driving in the movie.
"James Bond 24" opens in theaters on Nov. 6, 2015.
