'Jane the Virgin' season 2 spoilers: Britney Spears and Kesha to guest star
The first season finale of "Jane the Virgin" ended with a devastatingly shocking and jaw-dropping twist that made fans everywhere cry, as Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) newly born child suddenly and quite unexpectedly gets kidnapped. The baby was taken away by a devious woman named Helen pretending to be a nurse. This begs the question: What will happen to her baby and does she know who took her child?
Jane's baby boy was kidnapped by the villainous Rose, the stepmother of Rafael and his sister Luisa (Yara Martinez) who, fans discovered, is really the evil mastermind Sin Rostro who killed their father Emilio (Carlo Rota).
In the new season, fans will see a stronger Jane as she discovers that her baby is missing and she will do anything, in order to get her baby back. The producers of the show also teased that there are two weddings in the works next season, which will be fun and whimsical and will totally surprise fans of the show.
Jane will also choose between the two guys Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and Michael (Brett Dier) in the next season. This means that she will possibly end up marrying one of them. Meanwhile, fans will also know more about Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) and Rogelio's (Jamie Camil) drunken wedding in Las Vegas and what Petra (Yael Grobglas) did to the sperm sample of Rafael's that she took from the fertility clinic.
Fans will see Jane get her baby back as the new season progresses, and we will witness her strength as a new mother shine through. Actress Gina Rodriguez said that "she was genuinely excited to play the role of a new mother especially once she finds out that her baby is missing."
The upcoming season will have two notable pop stars as guests. Britney Spears will be playing herself. She is the sworn enemy of Rogelio, Jane's father, and she will appear in episode 5. Kesha, on the other hand, has an actual character. She will play Annabelle, Jane's new neighbor, who is not fond of children. She is a rocker.
The show's lead actress Gina Rodriguez got very excited when she heard that Britney Spears is guesting. She has a dream scenario in mind that is to recreate the singer's iconic music video "Baby One More Time" on set. She wants to do the dance from that song with Spears and record it.
The new season of Jane the Virgin will air on Oct. 12, a week earlier than its original premiere date.
