'Jane the Virgin' Season 2 update: Kesha & Kate Del Castillo to join cast, name change of show in order?

Fans of the romantic comedy-drama series "Jane the Virgin" is going to love the upcoming second season as latest reports say that it's going to be star-studded. It was revealed last time that Britney Spears will be guesting in the show. But it looks like they're not done in recruiting big names into their show. According to reports, singer Kesha and actress Kate Del Castillo have been casted.

In an exclusive interview with People, Kesha revealed that the day the show called her was supposed to be her day off. But even if she had not had a break for three weeks already, she was excited to do the auditions. When asked how her audition went, she says that it was far from nerve-wracking.

"I'm just used to making an ass of myself in front of people. I feel like most auditions, at least for comedy, is just seeing how much of an ass you're willing to make of yourself," Kesha says, according to People. "If you're willing to go the distance, then you usually get the job!"

The pop star will play as Annabelle, an unfriendly neighbor of Jane. She will be joined by the latest addition to the cast, Kate Del Castillo. The Mexican actress was first revealed through Jamie Camil's social media post wherein he warmly welcomed the "Reina del Sur" actress. Del Castillo replied with a "thank you" and stated that she had so much fun in her first day of shooting. There are no details yet as to how many episodes she will be appearing in the show but fans are sure excited already to catch her on the show.

Meanwhile, reports of a name change order for "Jane the Virgin" has surfaced because of the future of the show, reports The Wrap. Although that may be impossible for now, co-star Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael Solano, thinks that the show might want to remove Jane's titular description later on as she is set to get married soon. There's no name yet to whom she will get hitched but one thing is for sure—she will no longer be a virgin once it happens.

"Jane the Virgin" will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on Oct. 12 on CW Network.
