Janet Jackson Divorce Updates: Jackson's Brother Speaks Up About Singer's Divorce Battle
After baring her heart out during her performance of the song "What About" at her concert in Houston's Toyota Center over the weekend, Janet Jackson's brother Randy Jackson finally opened up about his sister's marital trouble.
In an interview with People, the former Jackson 5 member revealed that his younger sister suffered terribly during her five-year marriage with Qatari business mogul Wissam Saleh Al Mana.
According to Jackson, his sister has been going through a lot of pain as she deals with her ongoing divorce and custody battle with her estranged husband.
"It was quite an abusive situation," the older Jackson stated. "It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch everyday. There were things like that. That's what she went through."
He also revealed that since he lives in London where his sister and Al Mana were also residing, he was obliged to come to the "That's The Way Love Goes" singer's rescue early this year. He also claimed that he urged her to come home with him because he cannot take the level of abuse that she has been getting from her husband.
In addition, the older Jackson mentioned that he tried to keep the news from reaching their parents Joe and Katherine Jackson since they are too old to handle such circumstances. But the two already knew this time, and they are supporting their daughter all the way.
On the other hand, Al Mana's legal team also sent their statement to the publication to stress out that their client will not respond to his brother-in-law's claims. They also said that the businessman is focused on keeping the privacy of their son Eissa as his top priority.
Meanwhile, a source told E! News that the relationship between Jackson and Al Mana is beyond repair.
According to the source, the estranged couple do not agree on a lot of things. "One of the many divorcing factors was their religious beliefs. Wissam and Janet did not feel that they were on the same page when it came to this and the way they wanted their child to get raised. Janet is more of a free spirit than Wissam. Cultural difference and backgrounds played a major role," the source stated.
Jackson has yet to react to her brother's claims.
