Japan Recruits Six Secret Ninjas – Do You Have What It Takes?

Japan is known for its elevated cuisine culture, impeccable aesthetic tradition, their impressive solidarity as a nation, and ninjas. The country has been in the spotlight for the past few days after reports, including this one from CNN said that the Japanese prefecture of Aichi is recruting six young ninjas.

The shinobis, as what they are called in the native tongue, should be in between the ages of 18 and 30 and applicants should be more than sleek and adept to execute the job, which would earn them around 180,000 Japansese Yen or roughly $1,580 USD a month. Contracts start at year-long service.

The would-be warriors have up to March 22 to submit their resumes, a separate report from the Latin American Herald Tribune said. The publication went on to cite the job advertisement, which states that applicants may have to demonstrate their martial arts skills at the historic Nagoya castle. Individuals of various nationaly and sex are welcome to apply.

Known in the past as covert agents and mercenaries bringing swift death to those few unlucky, ninjas, practitioners of the "ninjutsu," were also known for their stealth works in espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and guerilla warfare. They were often hired by feudal lords to topple down their enemies.

This time, however, Aichi is looking for a different kind of ninja. CNN said that the recruitment campaign is in fact part of the preparation for the 2020 Olympics which will be held in Tokyo, Japan.

The chosen half dozen could be expected to do gravity-defying stunts like flips, tumblings, and jumps, as well as an impressive display of weapon use. The report spoke of "talkative ninjas," which also means that these black-clad individuals will be appearing in the media for the radio and television programs.

To kickstart the campaign, local governor Shigeaki Omura appeared online, fully-clad ninja outfit.

The legendary six are scheduled to begin training this coming April.
