Jared Leto Has Yet to Watch Joker in 'Suicide Squad'

The latest Joker actor Jared Leto recently admitted that he never got to see his version of the Clown Prince in "Suicide Squad." According to him, his decision to not watch the final cut of the DC Extended Universe's movie was largely because he did not want to be self-conscious.

Leto said that not watching his portrayal of Joker, who was one of the most noteworthy characters in the movie, would have only made his impression of "Suicide Squad" subjective.

"No, I never did. I just think with watching your own films, it can be too self-conscious of a process. You either like what you did and you're prone to repeat it, or you didn't like it, and it can make you self-conscious. I'm not sure how much win there is for me. But I read the scripts, so I know what's going to happen," he said in an interview with SyFy Wire.

The actor revealed that "Suicide Squad" was not the only film he's appeared in that he did not watch. Apparently, he also missed the Academy Award-winning "Dallas Buyers Club," where he portrayed a fictional transgender woman named Rayon. According to the actor, he does not usually enjoy sitting in a theater and watching himself perform on the big screen.

"Suicide Squad's" version of the Joker was one of the most fan-favorite characters in the movie, thanks to Leto's unique portrayal of the popular Batman villain. Although the role was initially said to be one of the main baddies, Joker turned out to be more of a supporting character.

The first "Suicide Squad" movie hit theaters last year and raked in at least $745 million at the global box office, making it one of the most successful movies of 2016 for the DC Extended Universe. Its sequel is already in production and will hit theaters in 2019.

Meanwhile, Leto will appear in "Blade Runner 2049" with Ryan Gosling. During the interview, he said he will only see the movie when he gets the time.
