Jason Statham to Join Marvel's 'Daredevil' as Bullseye?
News has emerged Marvel is eyeing Jason Statham as villain Bullseye for Netflix's superhero series, "Daredevil."
The "Spy" actor is rumored to be the forerunner to play the psychopathic assassin with uncanny marksmanship for Season 2 of the show.
The rumor originated from Latino Review, which reported a trusted source working at Marvel's TV production offices had confirmed the "Furious 7" actor is currently being pursued to play Bullseye for Marvel's "Daredevil" Netflix TV series.
Earlier on, Statham had already been in talks to star in a big screen reboot of "Daredevil" for 20th Century Fox before Marvel regained the character rights.
In Season 1, Vincent D'Onofrio's menacingly calm portrayal of villain Wilson Fisk dominated the underworld. In contrast, Marvel has been speculated to be turning "Daredevil" up a notch with Bullseye's over-the-top personality.
Should martial artist Statham sign on to the series, fans are likely to be treated to even better fight scenes than Season 1 provided.
Statham, who recently completed action thriller "Mechanic: Resurrection," a sequel to his 2011 film, "The Mechanic," has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors on the Bullseye role.
Apart from Bullseye, other characters are said to be appearing in Season 2 as well, including villains, Mr. Fear and Mysterio. Rumors over Elektra, Daredevil's eventual love interest, have also popped up, after audition videos appeared online last week showing actresses trying out for the role.
With "Daredevil" scheduled to begin filming within the next few months for its Season 2 premiere in the first half of 2016, Marvel is expected to make its official announcement on the new cast of characters within the year.
