Jeep, Mopar Concept Vehicles Release Date, Specs: Off-Road Concepts Unveiled for Easter Jeep Safari in Moab
Jeep and Mopar have collaborated once again to develop the seven concept vehicles that will be introduced and showcased at the 51st Easter Jeep Safari, to be held in Moab, Utah from April 8 to 16.
"It's truly a labor of love for the Jeep team to develop exciting, capable concept vehicles each year for Moab and the Easter Jeep Safari. We look forward to the reaction and feedback from enthusiasts and out most loyal customers as these new Jeep concepts are put through their paces on the trails in Moab," said Mike Manley, head of Jeep Brand — FCA Global.
For the annual off-road event, the seven concept vehicles have been equipped with a variety of premium, hardcore aftermarket accessories and equipment from Jeep Performance Parts and Mopar made sure that these components met rigorous specifications. These serve to illustrate how Jeep owners can customize their own vehicles for off-road adventures.
The first concept vehicle, Jeep Grand One, commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Grand Cherokee as it provides a modern interpretation of the 1993 ZJ. It features 18-inch lace-style wheels, high-clearance fender flares, an extended wheelbase, trimmed fascias and a wood grain exterior finish.
Jeep Safari concept, on the other hand, is ideal for families as they go on open-air adventures. Based on the Wrangler, it has a hard-top roof but translucent panels made from light aluminum and clear vinyl provide a clear view of the outdoors. The rotating rear seats can even be adjusted to have a better viewpoint of the scenes.
For overcoming sand terrains, the Jeep Quicksand features a long wheelbase, trimmed body and an open top for passengers to feel the wind blowing on their face. It also has a vintage hot rod design with its hood cutout and downturned open headers.
The Jeep Trailpass concept is based on the all-new Compass and has been enhanced for extreme off-road adventures. It is equipped with a 1.5-inch lift kit, 18-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, a Gloss Black exterior accent, custom body graphics and tinted lighting fixtures, among others. The concept also comes with a roof basket, cross rails and rock rails from Jeep Performance Parts.
Next on the list is the Jeep Switchback and apart from various off-road components, it is equipped with concept hood and half doors, a concept "Safari" hard top and roof rack system and an advanced lighting system for optimal visibility on the trail.
The Jeep CJ66 concept vehicle is inspired by various Jeep models including elements from the Wrangler TJ, CJ and JK. Notable features include a Copper Canyon color scheme, Dodge Viper seats, a custom cockpit, oversized fender flares, bumper kits and concept two-way air system to adjust tire pressure.
Lastly, the Jeep Luminator demonstrates the capability of the automaker's advanced lighting system which includes magnetic underbody rock lights, 7-inch LED projector bi-function headlamps, unique LED taillamps, LED spotlights, upper bumper lighting and overhead lights behind the windshield. Furthermore, the concept vehicle comes with a scanning LED light bar module on the hood to avoid wildlife and hazards, a solar panel on the roof and a drone landing pad.
