Jenelle Evans Twitter Photo Post-Surgery Causes Stir (PHOTO)

Jenelle Evans underwent emergency surgery to remove her appendix yesterday, and boyfriend Nathan Griffith posted a photo to her Twitter account immediately afterward, causing a frenzy on Twitter.

"She's been in pain for about a month and I suggested before that it could be her appendix," Griffith told Radar Online. "So I dropped her at the hospital before work. I told her to call me if you go into surgery so I could be there for her."

As it turned out, Evans needed to have her appendix removed immediately and underwent emergency surgery. Griffith took a picture of the "Teen Mom 2" star and posted it to her Twitter account, causing followers to offer their well-wishes and critics to suggest that the photo was completely staged and fake.

"Jenelle wanted me to post this," Griffith wrote on Twitter. "I feel so hopeless and I wish I could take her pain away… I'm sorry baby! She had her appendix taken out."

An entire conversation as to whether the photo was a fake ensued, but Evans' fans came to her defense as best they could. Then Evans herself was able to get on Twitter and address the situation, as well as update fans to her condition.

"Dr. Barbara [her mother] and Mr. Jace [her son] will be with me today to help me at home. How sweet! Thanks Mom. Love u! Really upset by the way I'm being treated on Twitter," Evans wrote later. "I mean I'm in so much pain and all u guys do is say I lie about this surgery. Bye Twitter."

This is not the first time Evans has been hospitalized. She has also had to deal with ovarian cysts and had to have several removed. Last year she was experiencing pain after an alleged physical altercation with her then-husband Courtland Rogers. Evans ended up having a miscarriage and spent some time at the hospital before being released.
