Jennifer Lawrence and Her First-Ever Sex Scene on 'Passengers' with Chris Pratt
The odds are forever in Jennifer Lawrence's favor after successfully hurdling her first-ever sex scene---and with a married man to boot---for her upcoming film "Passengers." And her recipe for success was that of wine over "Dumb and Dumber" with her leading man for the science fiction romance film, Chris Pratt.
As to how our "Silver Linings Playbook" star survived her biggest challenge yet, her "Passengers" co-star made the revelation.
Pratt told MTV, "Aside from doing a great job and telling a story, your primary goal is to make the other person comfortable. She wanted to have some wine and so we did. That was nice."
The actor also spoke of becoming "fast friends" with Lawrence as they worked together on their movie, which was filmed in Atlanta.
He added, "And we bonded over a mutual love of Dumb & Dumber. Just like jokes and life."
Back in November, the actress had expressed her apprehensions about doing her first sex scene for a film. The actress shared her experience with her peers, Helen Mirren and Cate Blanchett, during the awards-season roundtable by The Hollywood Reporter.
"I had my first real sex scene a couple weeks ago, and it was really bizarre."
The actress pointed out that she found it hard to deal with the fact that she had to do it with a married man, adding that the experience had felt weird. She even confessed to having called her mother to seek reassurance for what she had to do.
"It was going to be my first time kissing a married man, and guilt is the worst feeling in your stomach. And I knew it was my job, but I couldn't tell my stomach that. You want to do it real, you want everything to be real …"
The "Hunger Games" star said it had been the most vulnerable she has ever felt.
Lawrence has had other kissing scenes with Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson back when they shot their films of the "Hunger Games" franchise, but there was a difference compared to kissing Pratt, as she pointed out, "It doesn't feel as much like making out with a family member. Not that I'm against that—I'm from Kentucky."
Lawrence and Pratt recently attended the CinemaCon in Las Vegas to promote the first footage of "Passengers."
Lawrence's character in the film is a New York-based writer who wants to be one of the first people to make the 120-year journey to another planet and come back and write about it.
Lawrence fans can appreciate in full the actress' newest film as well as the much-talked-about sex scene when it comes out on Dec. 21.
