Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson Kiss in 'Hunger Games' Sequel: It Was 'Natural,' Says Actor (AUDIO)

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, who play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta respectively in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," have to kiss in some scenes of the movie. Hutcherson revealed Wednesday that although it was required for the film, it wasn't forced and felt "natural" because of the nature of the scene.

Jennifer Lawrence and Hutcherson's kiss comes after the first movie "The Hunger Games," when the two fall for each other while battling to stay alive in a futuristic wargame. In the sequel, that relationship is complicated when Gale, who comes from Katniss' hometown, falls for her as well.

"I can't divulge any kind of plot details, but it's up and down. Katniss and Peeta's relationship is very complicated," Hutcherson explained to Ryan Seacrest during a phone interview on his radio show. "It has a lot of little things that need to be worked out, but it's good. People, I think, will be very satisfied with it."

He also said that the scenes in which he and Lawrence kissed were aided by nature— they weren't too difficult because the body knows what to do.

"I'd say there's a natural stirring that happens in your body," Hutcherson said of the scenes. "If you're in the moment and you're in the scene, then naturally whatever naturally happens is what's supposed to happen."

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" showcases more of the political drama and commentary that the author of the books, Suzanne Collins, is known for. Now that Katniss Everdeen is in a position of power as the winner of the last Hunger Games, she and Peeta are in a place to upend the ruling class.

"On this movie, I think the story kind of opens up a lot," Hutcherson said. "I think there's a lot more interesting plots that start to develop and everything thickens. We up the overall feel of the movie."

He also said cast members were added to the movie, which will help with the feel of the film as well as "stay true to the book."

"We got some amazing actors to come in [like] Philip Seymour Hoffman. It was pretty incredible to work with all these guys," the 21-year-old actor said.
