Jeremy Clarkson of Top Gear Talks About 'Rehab' Prison

Jeremy Clarkson has had a rough year. Due to a heated argument leading to a physical altercation he had with one of the producers of "Top Gear," Mr. Tymom, over a steak, he had lost his job. Furthermore, despite no longer having a show, he had to continue dealing with chief Danny Cohen, as well as with his mother's passing. Anyone who had to go through what he did would understand how much stress he was handling during that time. It's no wonder that his doctor has ordered Clarkson to go into rehab, to stop him from becoming a "drooling vegetable."

Despite being against it, Clarkson still did what he was told and went into a retreat. Giving yoga, meditation, Zumba, and t'ai chi a chance, he quickly regretted the decision as he likened the experience to "prison." According to DailyMail, Clarkson talked about it in his Sunday Times column as he said, "Back in the summer it was decided by people with serious faces and stethoscopes that I needed a complete break. And they weren't talking about two weeks in the sun with a book, and a million cocktail parties every night. They were talking about a whole month in the Stone Age."

He further added that they told him that he "must go immediately to a prison where there would be no contact with the outside world." Clarkson also shared how rehab was not at all what he'd imagined. He thought that the facility he was checking in would be full of "Scandinavian furniture and half-naked Vietnamese women." Instead, he was stuck in a place of cell blocks and shared rooms, which was quite similar to an "actual prison."

Despite this experience, it seems that Clarkson came out better. He has now sealed a deal with Amazon to present the new £160 million motoring show, which he will co-host with James May and Richard Hammond, who followed him after he left BBC.
